The national numbers
BLS wage data for May 2024, the most recent federal survey, puts heavy and tractor trailer drivers at a median of $57,440 a year. The bottom ten percent earned under $38,640 and the top ten percent above $78,800. Light truck and delivery drivers, the closest category to Class B work, show a median of $44,140 with the top ten percent above $79,630.
